Gang of four is nothing to do with technical sense, it's name of four authors(Erich Gamma, Richard Helm, Ralph Johnson and John Vlissides) of book Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software. Pragmatic agile development OOP & Design Patterns. The verb “Software Pattern” is present for couple of decades and it came into limelight with GOF (Gang of Four) publishing their book “Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software” in 1994. A blog on web and software development. Troy Goode originally recommended this book to me. Search NET/C# as my main programming language at work the past 4 or 5 years, but this is no problem at all, as C# and Java are very similar, syntactically. Agile Principles, Patterns, and Practices in C#. Design Patterns; Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software , by Erich Gamma, Richard Helm, Ralph Johnson, John Vlissides (Addison Wesley, 1995). I wish that it did not contain all of the cartoons. In design pattern we often listen the term Gang of Four, GOF, or GO4. Design Patterns : Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software by Erich This is the book known as the Gang of Four book and it is considered required reading if you want to learn about software design principles and patterns. In next posts, I will pick each one of original 23 GOF design patterns, discuss pros, cons & need, UML diagrams for patterns and simple code illustration in C#. Richard Helm, Erich Gamma, John Vlissides and Ralph Johnson (“Gang of Four”). This is regarded as the “classic” or original patterns book by the Gang of Four (also referred to as Gof). Several There are only two things that I don't like about it. Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software. Also, I wish the samples were C#/VB.NET instead of Java.
